I love this truck and will drive it untill it can't drive anymore. I have towed everything with it from a tandem trailer to a pontoon. Cloth seats are easy to clean, exterior still shines like a new dime.
They showed me the wear on them before the replacement. The name Ford fits the problems, found on road dead, fix or repair daily. I'll give it a 4. The outside is average, nothing spectacular but it still looks good! Trading it off was a big mistake. I will buy another one Ford Explorer. Since I loved my Ranger so much I figured why not go all the way, and get a Sport Trac with every bell and whistle including the Adrenalin package. I understand that Ford has been aware of this problem for years and has offered no solution. Still, its steady ride and versatile, well-designed interior made for a well-rounded package. The most discouraging part of this entire vehicle experience would have to be the total lack of concern the dealership had toward repairing this vehicle. Right rear window intermittently worked from day one. General Comments: I love this truck.

Sorry, I did not listen. Most of the time I could drive an easy 300+ miles on a half a tank then the needle would drop to empty within the next 50 or so miles. It towed a trailer like a son of a gun.

General Comments: I purchased my first Ford in 1994 and loved it dearly until the day I had to trade up to something larger to haul my family. While the current Explorer is a vast improvement over its predecessor, it competed in a market with many more choices. All that play resulted in the tires wearing out early. At 21000 miles the entire front suspension had to be rebuilt. Air direction lever broke small plastic piece that requires replacement of entire duct assy.
